Episode 43 - Immigrant Song
In response to the Muslim Travel Ban, Andrew and Kirk take some time to discuss the immigrant musicians experience in America. Andrew decided to take a moment to research the NBC orchestra as conducted by Arturo Toscanini, which was comprised of many musicians who were fleeing the fascism and bigotry of Europe in the early 20th century. Andrew can trace his viola lineage back to a member of that orchestra, William Primrose, through Donald McInnes and Roger Myers. There are many stories of immigrant musicians of all lands and faiths in America, so we don't have time for all of it. The guys also talk about their recent gigs, and their new gear.
